HAPPY TRAILS TO YOU
Words & Music by Dale Evans, 1950

Happy trails to you until we meet again;
Happy trails to you, keep smiling until then.
Who cares about the clouds when we're together?
Just sing a song and bring the sunny weath - er.
Happy trails to you, 'til we meet a - gain.

According to www.allmusic.com , Evans wrote this song on an envelope and taught it to Roy Rogers and The Sons of the Pioneers forty minutes before the start of the radio show on which it aired for the first time. It was used as the closing theme song for the Roy Rogers television show from 1951-1957.

SWEET DREAMS
Emmylou Harris

Sweet dreams of you
Every ni ght I go through
Why can't I forget you and start my life anew
Instead of having sweet dreams about you

You don't love me, it's plain
I should have known you'll never wear my ring
I know I should hate you the whole night through
Instead of having sweet dreams about you

Sweet dreams of you
Things I know can't come true
Why can't I forget the past, start loving someone new
Instead of having sweet dreams about you

FLOWERS ON THE WALL
Statler Brothers
I keep hearin' you're concerned about my happiness
But all that thought you've given me is conscience I guess
If I were walkin' in your shoes, I wouldn't worry none
While you and your friends are worryin' 'bout me, I'm havin' lots of fun

Countin' flowers on the wall, that don't bother me at all
Playin' solitaire 'til dawn, with a deck of fifty-one
Smokin' cigarettes and watchin' "Captain Kangaroo"
Now don't tell me
I've nothin' to do

Last night I dressed in tails, pretended I was on the town
As long as I can dream it's hard to slow this swinger down
So please don't give a thought to me, I'm really doin' fine
You can always find me here and havin' quite a time

It's good to see you, I must go, I know I look a frigh
Anyway, my eyes are not accustomed to this light
And my shoes are not accustomed to this hard concrete
So I must go back to my room and make my day complete

HELLO WALLS
Willie Nelson

Hello, walls. How'd things go for you today?
Don't you miss her...since she up and walked away?
And I'll bet you dread to spend another lonely night with me,
but lonely walls, I'll keep you company.

Hello, window. Well I see that you're still here.
Aren't you lonely...since our darlin disappeared?
Well look here is that a teardrop in the corner of your pane?
Now don't you try to tell me that's it's rain.

She went away and left us all alone the way she planned.
Guess we'll have to learn to get along without her if we can.

Hello, ceiling. I'm gonna stare at you a while.
You know I can't sleep...so won't you bare with me a while?
We must all pull together or else I'll lose my mind.
Cause I've gotta feelin she'll be gone a long, long time.

WHISKEY IN THE JAR

As I was a-goin' over Gilgarra Mountain
I spied Colonel Farrell, and his money he was countin'.
First I drew my pistols and then I drew my rapier,
Sayin' "Stand and deliver, for I am your bold receiver."
Musha ringum duram da,
Whack fol the daddy-o,
There's whiskey in the jar.

He counted out his money and it made a pretty penny;
I put it in my pocket to take home to darlin' Jenny.
She sighed and swore she loved me and never would deceive me,
Bu the devil take the women, for they always lie so easy!
Musha rungum duram da

I went into me chamber all for to take a slumber,
To dream of gold and girls, and of course it was no wonder:
Me Jenny took me charges and she filled them up with water,
Called on Colonel Farrell to get ready for the slaughter.
Musha rungum duram da

They put me into jail with a judge all a-writin':
For robbin' Colonel Farrell on Gilgarra Mountain.
But they didn't take me fists and I knocked the jailer down
And bid a farewell to this tight-fisted town.
Musha ringum duram da

I'd like to find me brother, the one who's in the army;
I don't know where he's stationed, be it Cork or in Killarney.
Together we'd go roamin' o'er the mountains of Kilkenny,
And I swear he'd treat me fairer than my darlin' sportin' Jenny!
Musha ringum duram da

EL PASO
Marty Robbins

Out in the West Texas town of El Paso
I fell in love with a Mexican girl.
Nighttime would find me in Rose's Cantina,
Music would play and Felina would whirl.

Blacker than night were the eyes of Felina,
Wicked and evil while casting a spell.
My love was strong for this Mexican maiden,
I was in love, but in vain I could tell.

ONE NIGHT A WILD YOUNG COWBOY CAME IN
WILD AS THE WEST TEXAS WIND...
DASHING AND DARING A DRINK HE WAS SHARING,
WITH WICKED FELINA THE GIRL THAT I LOVE.
SO IN ANGER

I challenged his right for the love of this maiden;
Down went his hand for the gun that he wore.
My challenge was answered, in less than a heartbeat
The handsome young stranger lay dead on the floor.

Just for a moment I stood there in silence,
Shocked by the foul evil deed I had done.
Many thoughts ran through my mind as I stood there;
I had but one chance and that was to run.

OUT THROUGH THE BACK DOOR OF ROSE'S I RAN,
OUT WHERE THE HORSES WERE TIED...
I PICKED A GOOD ONE, HE LOOKED LIKE HE COULD RUN,
UP ON HIS BACK AND AWAY I DID RIDE.
JUST AS FAST AS

I could from the West Texas town of El Paso,
Out thru the badlands of New Mexico.
Back in El Paso my life would be worthless;
Everything's gone in life nothing is left.
But it's been so long since I've seen the young maiden,
My love is stronger than my fear of death.

I SADDLED UP AND AWAY I DID GO, RIDING ALONE IN THE DARK...
MAYBE TOMORROW A BULLET WOULD FIND ME,
TONIGHT NOTHING'S WORSE THAN THIS PAIN IN MY HEART.
AND AT LAST HERE

I am on the hill overlooking El Paso,
I can see Rose's Cantina below.
My love is strong and it pushes me onward,
Down off the hill to Felina I go.

Off to my right I see five mounted cowboys,
Off to my left ride a dozen or more.
Shouting and shooting; I can't let them catch me,
I've got to make it to Rose's back door.

SOMETHING IS DREADFULLY WRONG FOR I FEEL
A DEEP BURNING PAIN IN MY SIDE
IT'S GETTING HARDER TO STAY IN THE SADDLE.
I'M GETTING WEARY, UNABLE TO RIDE
BUT MY LOVE FOR

Felina is strong and I rise where I've fallen;
Though I am weary, I can't stop to rest.
I see the white puff of smoke from the rifle,
I feel the bullet go deep in my chest.

From out of nowhere, Felina has found me,
Kissing my cheek as she kneels by my side.
Cradled by two loving arms that I'll die for,
One little kiss and Felina goodbye.

AFTERNOON DELIGHT
Starland Vocal Band

Gonna find my baby, gonna hold her tight
Gonna grab some afternoon delight
My mottos always been when it's right it's right
Why wait until the middle of a cold dark night
When everythings a little clearer in the light of day
And we know the night is always gonna be there anyway

Thinking of you's working up my appetite
Looking forward to a little after noon delight
Rubbing sticks and stones together makes the sparks ignite
And the thought of rubbing you is getting so exciting
Sky rockets in flight,
After noon de light
After noon de light, after noon de light

Started out this morning feeling so polite
I always thought a fish could not be caught who didn't bite
But you got some bait awaitin' and I think I might
Like nibbling a little after noon delight
Sky rockets in flight,
After noon de light
After noon de light, after noon de light

Be waiting for me baby when I come around
We can make a lot of loving 'fore the sun gone down

Thinking of you's working up my appetite
Looking forward to a little after noon delight
Rubbing sticks and stones together makes the sparks ignite
And the thought of rubbing you is getting so exciting
Sky rockets in flight,
After noon de light
After noon de light, after noon de light
